Step 2 Cover options

You can enhance your health insurance by adding any number of these cover options to your plan. Remember that these are purely optional - you can add one, two or all of them.

Out-patient Treatment

This provides really useful healthcare cover as many people will need some form of out-patient treatment at one time or another. It means that you are covered for the tests that take place before diagnosis and treatment, even if you don't need to go on to have in-patient treatment.

Home Care can form an important part of your personal healthcare plan, especially if you are in a later stage of life. You can rest assured that should you need help recuperating at home after an operation, you can get it as part of your plan.

Help at home Up to 3 hours per day for a maximum of 7 days per plan year

If you're interested in having Home Care as part of your plan, but are looking for additional benefits more relevant to a young couple or family, then this could be ideal for you. It's an easy way to add extra cover for real peace of mind.

If you want healthcare cover for some conditions like back pain or neck strain which could affect you in the future, then Additional Therapies offers very useful cover. We will provide cover for the following therapies upon referral by a GP or specialist. We can help you choose the level of cover that's just right for you.

When you take out health insurance, it's good to know that it will look after your mind as well as your body - especially as some issues like stress could affect you or someone in your family at one time or another. If you ever need to be referred to a psychiatrist, this option will cover you for:

In-patient and day-patient psychiatric treatment Full cover up to a combined total of 28 days per plan year
Out-patient psychiatric treatment Up to £1,500 per plan year

Designed to give you extra support just when you need it most, these benefits are useful in times of bereavement, work-related stress or marital difficulties. You can talk to someone over the phone for confidential advice any time of day or night. This option offers great value for money with up to eight counselling sessions available where appropriate for a very competitive price.

With regular health and well-being assessments, you can take proactive control of your health. You have the choice of a screening from Nuffield Health or you can have cash towards a screening from a provider of your choice.

Private GP cover gives you the option to visit a private GP, ideal for times when you find it hard to get an appointment, have just moved into a new area or where there's a long waiting list. Or perhaps you just prefer to see a private GP.

Private GP consultations, prescriptions, minor surgery and fees for completion of claim forms

Up to £300 per plan year

You will be fully eligible for these benefits once you have held Maternity Cover for two years. If you want cover for pregnancy complications too, you should include Core Enhancement as part of your plan.

Maternity cover for private ante-natal and post-natal care, specialist consultations, diagnostic tests and investigations and delivery in hospital for a natural birth

Up to £3,000 per pregnancy, following a two-year qualifying period

Whether you're going abroad for business or pleasure, you will have all the benefits you'd expect for complete peace of mind at great value. In fact, our travel insurance compares well with that of major travel insurers and, if you select Level 2, provides excellent cover for winter sports too.

To benefit from our travel insurance, you must be 64 or under when you join. You can choose the level of cover to suit you.

With Dental Cover Level 2 or 3, you will receive cash towards routine check-ups and treatment. Unlike some other insurers, we give you the freedom to use any dentist you choose.

You can choose the level of cover to suit you.

To be eligible for this benefit, you must have undergone a check-up with your regular dental practitioner and have completed all dental treatment recommended in the 12 months before your cover start date.

If you have not seen your dental practitioner in the 12 months before your cover start date, then eligibility for this benefit will only begin after you have undergone a check-up by a dental practitioner and completed all dental treatment recommended.
